Britto International Artists’ Workshop 2003

Britto organized its first International Artists' Workshop from 24th Jan to 7th Feb 2003 with 9 artists from abroad and 10 from Bangladesh at Tepantor Film City in Valuka. Tepantor is 60 Km far from urban crowd of Dhaka City.

These artists lived and worked together at the venue for two weeks. At the end of the workshop we had an Open Studio Day at Tepantor that was well attended by around 300 people including students, artists, art critics and general public.

Britto organized some slide presentations at different venues in Dhaka such as Institute of Fine Arts, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Goethe-Institut, Alliance Francaise and Bengal Gallery with the work of the artists from abroad. During the workshop we had slide presentations in Tepantor every evening with the work of all artists as well. British Council organized an Outreach event at their auditorium in Dhaka after the Open Studio Day.

Britto initiates to organize the International Artists' Workshop every two years in Bangladesh.
