Britto Arts Trust have done a number of projects with the students of fine arts .We have always tried to make a bridge between traditional , folk and contemporary art. Keeping this idea in mind we have titled our  RAKU project " Reconstruction" with these 6 students from the Institute of Fine Arts , University of Dhaka.

RAKU is a very new practiced medium in Bangladesh. After learning the process of RAKU these group of students are keen to explore their thoughts and experiment with this medium. Through out a year they have gathered their experience in producing the quality RAKU works.

In this workshop the participants have tried to do work beyond their academic practice. The idea of this workshop was to develop a language of Art through the objects from urban life. The participants tried to reflect this idea into their work installing their work on their own way and reconstruct found objects and other materials along with their RAKU pieces in a non functional way.

The main pieces were made at Britto Studio in Dhaka while the RAKU kiln was used at Porapara Space for Artists' in Chittagong.

We hope this project will generate interest and excitement among the art Connoisseurs and students.
