In 1982, Sir Anthony Caro and Robert Loder started the first Triangle workshop in New York State USA. Afterward in 1985 in Thupelo, Johannesburg another Workshop started with the initiative of South African artists. Thereafter workshops started in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, Senegal, Jamaica, UK, Cuba, Australia, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. All these have been guided by the Triangle Arts Trust based in London, whose mission it is to expand the workshop network.
Britto in Bangladesh is a part of this dynamic international workshop chain.
